National Day of Prayer

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray… then will I hear from heaven… and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)

A solemn call across America to repent, pray, and seek the peace of our land under Christ, by the Word, in the fear of God.

Why We Gather

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities… ”
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions… be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life…”
1 Timothy 2:1–2 (KJV)

We come together not to strive with men, but to stand against darkness (2 Cor. 10:4). We will intercede for our leaders especially those we most strongly disagree with asking God for protection, softened hearts, and true unity under righteousness
(Prov. 21:1; Ps. 133:1).

The Central Prayer

Almighty God, Maker of heaven and earth, we come in the name of Jesus Christ. Thy Word declares that “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” (2 Cor. 10:4, KJV) We stand not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers of the darkness of this world. (Eph. 6:12, KJV)

We rebuke the works of darkness—deception, hatred, and violence—set against this nation. Let the counsel of the wicked come to nought. (Ps. 33:10)

We ask a hedge of protection round about our leaders, including the leaders of the Democratic Party—about them, and about their houses, and about all that they have on every side. (Job 1:10, KJV) “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” (Ps. 91:11, KJV)

We ask Thee to soften hearts. Take away the stony heart, and give a heart of flesh. (Ezek. 36:26, KJV) Open ears to Thy Word and eyes to Thy truth. Turn hearts toward righteousness and peace. (Prov. 21:1; John 16:8)

We pray for unity—not the unity of evil, but the unity of Thy Son, “That they all may be one.” (John 17:21, KJV) “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Ps. 133:1, KJV) Let the violence of the wicked come to an end; establish the just. (Ps. 7:9, KJV)

Heal our land. “If my people… shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face… then will I hear from heaven… and will heal their land.” (2 Chr. 7:14, KJV) And let the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:7, KJV)

In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

How to Host a Local Gathering

  • Place & time: Church sanctuary, city square, or home.

  • Lead sheet: Print the prayer + verses (KJV).

  • Music: Two short sets—humble before, joyful after.

  • Posture: Pray for all in authority; bless those who oppose you (Rom. 12:14, 18, 21).

  • Follow-up: Invite attendees to daily prayer at noon for the next 7 days (Acts 3:1).

Statement of Posture

We contend with darkness, not with people (Eph. 6:12). We honor all men, love the brotherhood, fear God, and honor those in authority (1 Pet. 2:17). Our words shall be seasoned with grace and truth (Col. 4:6).
